Choosing the perfect location/venue
In planning the summer conference, we knew it was essential to find a location and venue that was suitable for both business and pleasure.
To find the perfect place, we spent time profiling the team and the company, assessing the age-range and mix of personalities who would be attending, as well as the brands and products that would be under discussion during the 3 day conference.
Our research confirmed that our delegates’ were ‘young, fun, energetic and ambitious’ and we tailored our proposal to suit.
The setting
Ibiza, with its energy, relentless sunshine, wild nightlife and cool vibe was the ideal location.
Our chosen venue complimented its surroundings with a relaxed atmosphere, ideal for soaking up the stunning sea views and providing the perfect canvas to host the Summer Conference.
Day 1: The arrival
On arrival, delegates were welcomed by an oasis set around the exclusive hotel pool, creating the ideal opportunity for colleagues to catch up and be introduced over an exotic cocktail or two.
As the afternoon of relaxation continued, many of the guests took advantage of the swimming pool and the wide range of luxury spa treatments on offer, both set against a magnificent coastal backdrop.
The objectives of the first day to create a friendly, laidback environment were successfully achieved and the Article 10 Events team continued their work safely behind the scenes putting everything in place for the conference and entertainment to come.
Day 2: The conference
Day 2 focussed on the conference itself, from the pre planning and construction of the meeting space right down to the all-encompassing AV, staging and the latest conferencing technology – Article 10 Events managed the whole process from start to finish ensuring a fantastic outcome for all involved.
Our sister company, Article 10 Presentations, supported this process through the development of a bespoke presentation solution including animation and video sequences for an eye-catching, exciting programme.
After business was taken care of, we had something special in store for everyone. The Article 10 Events team had visited Ibiza prior to the event - seeking out the finest restaurants, the most polished hotels and the funkiest bars to add to our shortlist for the main evening entertainment on the second night. The ‘hands-down winner’ was a truly Ibiza hotel set back in the middle of the island amongst a nature reserve full of orange groves.
When the delegates arrived, they were greeted by a glowing, lantern-lit courtyard with striking water features and outdoor cocktail bar. Next to the courtyard, stood a private open-sided temple where our guests could enjoy a sumptuous 3 course meal in the luxurious surroundings.
After dinner, we transformed the courtyard into an exclusive Ibizan night club complete with giant plasma screen and DJ pumping out the latest funky tunes into the small hours.
Day 3: The beach party
On the final day with checkout taken care of, we transported the delegates to a private beach club for some more fun in the sun. Whether they wanted to relax on a sun lounger, sip sangria, indulge in the delicacies of the bbq or try their hand at some of the high energy activities we had planned, the choice was theirs.
The water babies gunned for all adrenaline speed-boating and champagne diving, or chilled out in canoes and snorkelled.
The land lovers let rip over team activities including beach football, volleyball and archery.
As the final hours of the 2008 Summer Conference gradually drew it to a close, the delegates departed in high spirits with a renewed and reinvigorated team spirit – the perfect outcome to a perfect event.
